spirituality

spiritualism and spirituality are not only aesthetically and whimsically beautiful in a very refined and real sort of way, but they are rooted deeply and stable. learning to connect with your spirit, whatever you define it as, works with a moldable mind. there is so much acceptance and free thought, it seems. this is why it can be so helpful and powerful. it is not a strict practice to follow, but an array of tools to help you deepen your relationship with yourself and with the world around you. i have really had a gorgeous time exploring it.

i think a lot of the meaning of a "spiritual journey" recently. there is truly a sacred gate that opens when you allow yourself to become open to things like that, especially whilst on the road to healing. i have absorbed a lot of content and done some practice myself in efforts to expand my growth in 2023, and wish to share some truths i have adopted and learned what i find to be extremely vital pieces of this philosophy to know and believe.

quality over quantity. you may feel you are starting from the very bottom - allowing yourself to finally cry, using affirmations but not really believing what you are saying, making an effort to walk around a little bit, or whatever it may be. but the abundance of effort put into the gestures mean absolutely nothing. the fact that you have started rewards you. the littlest thing should feel like your greatest success every time. the love you are guided to feel for yourself is unconditional and so abundant. there is room for error and feeling out. there is room for exhaustion from seemingly nothing. there is room for taking too many breaks. there is no room for negative self-talk. and there is always inner love and peace to bring healing. that is what you are practicing. it is the loveliest thing.

there is never a wrong way to do it. dance freely with yourself. even if you dance competitively and have done intensive training for. whatever. do it for the feeling, not the execution. like, technique does not matter at all. just move. free what is trapped. you are so deeply encouraged to look silly while doing things like this. it is the art of not caring what people think. not taking things personally. validating yourself and not seeking. i mean, it is all so hard. but, if you get to this point where you can do this - even for just a moment you are practicing these values. however big or small, no matter how or why, you are always. doing it. RIGHT. it can take years, so many or so little. maybe. the point is, absolutely everyone's path is vastly different. and that is what is so great about it. you think what you become. you make your own life. you do it all on your own and it may be difficult, but it is never wrong. everything is welcome. all of you. every moment. good and bad.

save your inner child, build your future self. i truly believe the elements of this philosophy can do a lot for your inner child. it gives you a sense of self-control enough to be able to kind of talk back and teach your baby self retrospectively. the idea that your energy is always yours, always has been, and always malleable, really can just take you on a journey to healing past wounds. learning forgiveness for yourself because you deserve it, and others because whatever does not work out for you was never meant for you in the first place. or, maybe forgiving others because we finally can see them as people (perhaps our lovely guardians and older guides.) letting go of the heavy - shame, guilt, resentment- and welcoming in everything else. every emotion. every reaction. every feeling. learning to recycle. learning to love. accept.

no matter how deeply you dive into all of this, or if you never do, it is always important to find that way of loving yourself. self-love is something you are capable of and something you deserve. burn sage and do breathing practices and go to yoga five times a day. or just look at yourself in the mirror sometimes, read a book or half of one, feed your mind. whatever you decide to do. it is right, it is welcome, and it is gorgeous.
